A Personnel Checks Event: Mental Health Matters
When: June 19th 2018
One Cathedral Square,
Blackburn BB1 1FB
What does poor mental health mean to your business?
Poor mental health is the main cause of absenteeism and lost productivity in the workplace, costing in excess of £30 billion per year.
Despite the evidence and statistics, many businesses are still in the dark about the impact of mental health and the effects it can have on both employees and those coming into contact with your business.
Safeguarding society is at the heart of everything we do here at Personnel Checks and we are fully committed to our workforce to ensure we have the very best awareness of workplace wellbeing and can spot the signs to be able to support our colleagues, family members, friends and vulnerable people within our society.
We have a duty of care to look after the health & wellbeing of all our employees both physically and physiologically and as a business, we think it is key to become even more resilient with happy and engaged staff.
Personnel Checks are therefore inviting you to attend our upcoming free event: Mental Health Matters with Dr Gary Sidley, an esteemed psychologist with a PhD who is also a freelance writer and trainer and who opted to leave his Consultant Clinical Psychologist post after 33 years of employment within the UK’s psychiatric system to draw on his extensive clinical experience and write a book about the deficiencies of traditional psychiatric practice.
By the end of the session you will:
- Have increased awareness of the causes & maintenance of mental health and reduce associated stigma
- Have a better understanding of how to promote and maintain mental wellbeing in the workplace
- Be aware of interventions to reduce distress amongst peers, colleagues and family members
- Have the opportunity to network with other fantastic Lancashire based businesses
Gary is passionate about workplace wellbeing in reference to mental health working closely with many sports organisations and is thrilled to deliver this session in conjunction with Personnel Checks. Find out more about Gary here.
